About Us

Foundation Features is an independent production company developing, packaging and producing high quality feature films and television by collaborating with some of the industry's most critically acclaimed and established directors, writers, and creative talent. Foundation was founded in 2009 by Producer Rob Merilees, former partner of Infinity Features Entertainment. Foundation's team is composed of Rob LaBelle - Executive in Charge of Television, and Amber Ripley - Director of Development.

Rob LaBelle Executive in Charge of Television

Rob joined the former Infinity Features in 2006 with primary responsibility for establishing its television division. His extensive knowledge of story structure and series development has spawned strong relationships with major broadcasters, talent, and other key personnel. Rob also has the benefit of 20 years' experience in front of the camera, perfectly positioning him for the role of developing unique and dynamic television properties. An accomplished Gemini and Leo Award-nominated actor, Rob has worked with such notable film directors as Barry Sonnenfeld, Harold Becker, Todd Haynes, Roland Joffe, Wes Craven, Bruce MacDonald, Roger Spottiswoode, Stan Douglas, Francis Ford Coppola, Zack Snyder & Ole Bornedal.

Rob LaBelle now serves as the Executive in Charge of Television for FOUNDATION FEATURES. Rob was an Executive Producer on MENTAL, a one-hour medical mystery drama that completed filming in 2008 in Bogota, Columbia (with Fox Television Studios & Fox International). The series stars Chris Vance (PRISON BREAK) and Anabella Sciorra (LAW & ORDER and THE SOPRANOS). MENTAL aired on Fox and Global in the summer, 2009. Rob currently has dramatic series in development with CTV (Daniel Cerone & Sean Reycraft's SUSPECT BEHAVIOR) and Much (Blake Corbet's HELL'S BELLES).

Rob holds a BA from Brown University and an MFA from New York University's Graduate Program in Acting. In addition, Rob has experience directing 1-hour episodic television and teaching Chekhov, Dadaism and masks at UCLA Overseas Program in Florence, Italy and Colorado College.
